Fresh Maltese produce at the Farmer’s Market in Ta’Qali

Every Saturday morning farmers from all over Malta gather in Ta’Qali to sell their fresh local products. Here you can buy any type of vegetable or fruit that grows on the islands for generally very good prices. The quality of the products is great. As the produce is locally grown and not cleaned and treated for the supermarket shelf it can look a bit rougher than what you might be used to, i.e. you are likely have to pick a selection of snails of your broccoli and wash a bit more dirt off it. Make sure you always choose each piece of vegetable or fruit yourself to make sure you get exactly what you want. An additional advantage is that you help support local farmers directly.
The exact time of the market seems somewhat illusive but it seems advisable to get there before 12pm.
